Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. (Psalm 20:7) *
Ironically, every piece of US currency bears the motto “In God We Trust.” Now, perhaps more than before, the question remains. Do we? Do we trust in God or government? God or Wall Street? God or the CDC?
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10) *
Our todays and tomorrows are safe. God’s attributes and character will not change. This is a time to stand together in what unites us above all else: In God we trust. We are Children of the One True God; Sons and Daughters of the King of Kings. Nothing can separate us from the love of God revealed in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38-39). The world is watching as we respond to these tense and trying times. Standing together, we can be examples of the Light of Jesus shining in the darkness of fear, uncertainty, and loneliness. We can pray. We can help. We can be patient and kind. We can be peace-keepers and encouragers to one another. We can choose to trust our most Trust-worthy God and believe He will neither leave nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6).
